People I Truly Admire: Rachel Ong (Episode 1)

Welcome to my first personal blog post series that I call PITA! I want to share the people I truly admire to all of you because of their great influence and intelligence. However, I admire too many public figures that cannot be shared in one post so I decided to make this content a series. This series would be sharing how the people I admire affected my life.

Who is Rachel Ong?

Why do I admire Rachel Ong?

I found out about Rachel Ong when I went into the Ignite Conference 2015 in the beautiful country of Philippines. Here’s a recap video of the conference and a treasured memory of my life:

If you watched the recap video, you’ll probably saw a glimpse of Rachel Ong. I am actually one of the luckiest people to actually hear her life story. She studied in Harvard and has then followed the word of God ever since. She meditates on the word of God always. According to her story, when she was still young, she was not the smartest but one of the slowest student of all time so she went to her teacher and ask “Teacher, how can I be smart?” and  her teacher gave her the bible verse Joshua 1:8 which states “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”. Of course, she followed the advice of her teacher. The journey was really long but she made it to Harvard and she is now the Chief Executive of the company Rohei and the Chairman of Trybe. She shared that her walk of life is all because the words of God and shared that doing the right thing will always be seen by God despite the consequences. Rachel has a podcast regarding Moral Excellence and I would share it to all of you.
